Where to stay in Taichung, Taiwan
Have you ever found a hotel that left you in awe from the moment you step your foot at the main entrance up to the time you'll have to drag yourself out because you want to stay longer? Hotel Seven is that one kick-ass accommodation that I wish it is everywhere in every place I visit!
Location
Hotel Se7en is just a few blocks away from a bulk of restaurants that serve a wide array of food. Whether you are on a budget or sky is the limit for your pocket, there's a warm dish you'll surely eat at the nearby Feng Chia Night Market.
We actually came from a whole day tour that's why we checked in a bit late which is already around 6pm. We were dropped off by a free shuttle courtesy of the tour operator. In terms of public commuting, I cannot tell more about it. If I knew that this hotel is gonna blew me away, I would have tried all my best to finish the day tour as early as I can!
This is not bragging but I have stayed at many dozens of hotels around Asia. I can humbly say that my standards for bestowing my thumb's up sign is a bit higher but I make sure whenever I found a hotel that's worth it, I don't think twice. In fact, I give two thumbs up for Hotel Seven in Taichung, Taiwan. Hotel Seven gave us a Loft Double Room accommodation. Who wouldn't want a hotel room that is divided into upper and lower part? The ground floor consists of two sofas, cabinets, kitchen, table, chairs and the bathroom. Our room was in the upper floor. The glass window covering the part from the ceiling to the floor provided us the brightest daylight and moreso, gave that feeling of extra chill for us. I do super love hotels that are not cramped and has a view of the skyscrapers reaching the horizon.
Checking in
We were welcomed by two of their smiling staff at the reception. The look of the Hotel Seven building is so ordinary but I was blown away when I saw the lobby which is very modern and stylish. The strong aircon that made my skin shiver a bit reminds me that this hotel is well-kept. They offered to bring our heavy bags directly to our hotel room. It was such a relief for us who have been walking whole day from our tour package! The only thing we need to do is bring ourselves to the floor where our hotel room is located so we walked to the nearest elevator.
After pushing the button, the elevator door slowly opened. The lift's walls are decorated by silhouettes of animals which kinda ordinary for us. However, we were a bit surprised to see a flat-screen TV buried under the floor. Imagine you're stepping on a real monitor flashing the hotel's advertisement!
When we reached the right floor, the elevator opened. We walked to find our room which was at the very end. We noticed that every door of the Hotel Se7en's room, they have a quirky way of showing the room number. Usually, hotel numbers are engraved at the upper part of the door but here it's a bit quirky! There's a light that shines from above the door that reaches down the floor in front of the door reflecting the hotel number. Super cool, right?

The Loft Double Room
Hotel 7's Loft Double room is so posh that I don't want to go out anymore! This is the only negative thing about this hotel - it is too pretty to just make it a place to sleep then leave the next day. The wifi is so strong! I was super tempted to just work my ass off since I only need a laptop for my online tasks.
There's a toy gun on our bed that comes with a small piece of plastic board as a shooting target which made me all gaga. Why it is there? Why the heck it should be there? Why a toy gun??!! At the end, it made sense that staying in Hotel 7 in Fuxing Road is like letting your imagination fly. It is never boring!

For health buffs, they have a tread mill and a gym bike FREE to use too. The ubiquitous table football is also present for those who love this game.
The Buddy Butty, Hotel Seven's Restaurant
The Buddy Butty is the in-house restaurant of Hotel Seven serving a buffet type of breakfast. The food has a wide variety (from Taiwanese to Western cuisine). It looks so cute outside and the style is so British to me (the bloody red color). However, the inside fell a little short to me. Having seen the grand lobby and our hotel room, I was expecting a bit extravagance but then again I know this place is about eating and filling the stomach with good food. See the first two photos below though I have to say the food is so good. It won't be a big deal to me to not to stay here again.
