!!! It has come to my attention that some SCAMMERS ARE USING THIS PHOTO ID OF MINE. Please know that this is expired already since 2020 and this is NOT a valid ID. Do not be fooled! I!!!
In an effort to secure a Yellow card, Postal ID and voter's ID in Makati where I have been living for a total of 7 years now, I decided to get a Police Clearance in Makati Central Police Station. I will show you the step by step process according to my experience of how I was able to get a Police Clearance for someone like me who has NO previous record of crimes or cases against me.
How much is the cost of getting Police Clearance? It depends on your purpose. In my case I paid Php 50 - cedula (community tax), Php 50 - photo and Php 250 as the official processing fee. A total of Php 350 is needed to get Police Clearance here in Manila. Validity is 6 months only so you need to get one again after that. If it is about traveling abroad like getting or if you have firearms, it would cost from Php 400-500. If you are a seaman, it is Php 200. The rest, it is only Php 50.
Step 0 Fill up the Police Clearance application form plus the cedula. You need to input the following information: name, address, birth date, birth place, gender, nationality, civil status, religion, height, weight, hair color, eye color, identifying marks, OR no., resident certification no., date issued and purpose.
In the application form you are required to sign a written consent that says:
I, the Data Subject, hereby given expressed consent to this station (DPO, PIC & PIP) for the processing, storing, updating and retrieving of my personal information indicated herein. I also certify that I was made aware of the following:
- That the data and/or biometrics captured are necessary to counter-check any crime committed in the past should there ny any.
- That any crime committed in the future will ne appended to my personal information.
- The authorized public safety officers are allowed to access and validate the data given in this application.
- That information will be stored and kept confidential, within its validity making it available for my next transaction.
- That processing of informing is made through online technologies.
- That I was made aware of my Rights as Data Subject as indicated in RA 10173, and I was informed about the contact details of the DPO, PIC & PIP.
Step 1 Pay Php for cedula.
Step 2 Pay Php 50 for the photo.
Step 3 Pay Php 250 for the Police Clearance.
Step 4 Get the number while you give the Police Clearance application form, cedula and official recept. Wait for your number to be called.
Step 5 The documents will be given back to you once it is your turn to have your photo taken. If you have no previous criminal record, you’ll see a note there that says NO RECORD ON FILE. See below photo.
Step 6 You’ll be asked to go inside a room then sit in front of a flatscreen TV with a video camera. The staff will verify if the information you wrote are correct. All these will be recorded via the Online Police Clearance application website. You are asked to sign via the digital way. Two printed copies of the Police Clearance will be given to you in one paper only.

What are the requirements in getting a Police Clearance?
You only need to present a paid cedula or the community tax for Php 50 plus the photos that should be taken at the police station only. You should be there personally to get the Police Clearance.
What you should need to know before you get your Police Clearance?
1. Bring a black pen for your convenience.
2. They don't care how you dress surprisingly but yeah just wear something presentable.
3. It took me total of 2 hours to finish so I guess you should allot 2 more hours for commuting back and forth. So, plan your schedule wisely.
4. While waiting in a shed for those who are also waiting for their numbers to get called, it rained so hard. To make the story short, we got wet. Better, bring umbrella or raincoat during rainy season.
5. There's a small store near the waiting area if you get hungry or thirsty.
6. During the taking of photo, there's a difference of how they do it compared to Postal ID. They don't ask for finger prints - just the photo. They even allow the both of the hair to be shown in front.
The only reason why I got Police Clearance is I lack the requirements of Postal ID: birth certificate and one valid government ID. I was advised by the security guard I can get Police Clearance instead.
