Wikipedia is launching "Wiki Loves Monuments", an international photo contest around cultural heritage monuments. This is for everyone, does not matter if you are an amateur, professional photographer or you just happen to snap a captivating photo through your mobile phone on your way or while on a trip.
The Philippines is one of the countries participating so don't waste this opportunity to dig out your photos hidden on your Facebook albums or on your phones.
Prizes of Winners of the Wiki Loves Monuments Philippines:
First place winner: ₱15,000 cash, a trophy, and a
. guaranteed scholarship to Wikimania 2013*
Second place winner: ₱10,000 cash, and a trophy
Third place winner: ₱5,000 cash and a trophy
Fourth to Tenth Place winners: ₱1,000 and a certificate for each winner
The Top 10 winners will have a chance to win more prizes in
the Wiki Loves Monuments International Competition.
Wikimania is an annual gathering of Wikimedians/Wikipedians organized by the Wikimedia Foundation. It will be taking place in Hong Kong on August 7 to 11, 2013 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and hosted by Wikimedia Hong Kong. The Winner of Wiki Loves Monuments Philippines will have a guarranteed, all expense paid trip to Wikimania 2013.
