The President of the Philippines has signed the Proclamation N. 826, s. 2014, has declared July 29, 2014 as a regular holiday nationwide to observe the Feast of Ramadhan or the Eid'l Fitr.
As per the proclamation, it aims "to promote cultural understanding and integration, the entire Filipino nation should have the full opportunity to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in the observance and celebration of Eid'l Fitr" and "in order to bring the religious and cultural significance of the Eid’l Fitr to the fore of national consciousness, it is necessary to declare Tuesday, 29 July 2014, as a regular holiday throughout the country."
