Chef Bruce Lim's The Rustique Kitchen in Makati

Are you looking for a dining place that serves a superb combination of Filipino and continental dishes? Ye's there's a lot to choose from in the metro today but there's one that stands out located along Arnaiz Ave., Makati - Chef Bruce Lim's The Rustique Kitchen. Let's start from the ambiance - spacious, elegant and a work of art itself. I love the tables carefully decorated by plants. A display of an old calesa did not escaped my watchful eyes therefore making me conclude that the owners of these restaurant are quite fascinated by the old charms of the past.

I have been to a quite number of food reviews around the metro. Aside from the food, I never forget to include rest rooms because I value sanitation as much as the taste of the food they prepare. Chef Bruce Lim's The Rustique Kitchen is a top winner in this category. I was surprised at how wide it is. There's even couches for the ladies to grab a magazine or do some retouching in between breaks!

I happened to join a dinner with fellow bloggers to sample their dishes with Chef Bruce Lim himself. I have to admit that I was overwhelmed on the food we ate  because they were able to make great twists to our ordinary comfort food that came up so delicious that you will crave for more.

Good looking mocktails greeted us while they prepare our dinner
Followed by their complimentary French bread

Now on to the menu we ate!

Pata Fritter with Tripe salad
This is a good combination of greens and the pata fritter.

Bruschetta with foie gras and jam
I love the half-fried bread toppled with these sprouts. If you eat duck liver (sadly I am not), this one is for you.

Lapu Lapu Ceviche
This will challenge your tongue for  "wilder" taste - sour, bitter... you will taste here. This is a lapu lapu marinated in a citrus vinaigrette!

Tortang Talong

I never thought that our very own tortang talong can be this really great - tasting.

Ldb and Duxelle

Sizzling Oxtail Kare Kare
OMG! This is the best kare - kare I have ever tasted. They were able to really soften the meat that you will keep on asking more. Also there's something about the soup because they serve it very minimum and bubbly.

Fish Market
For those who loves eating fish, this is the best.

Quesong Puti Cheesecake

Warm Chocolate Tart

For the appetizers, need I say more?

I will surely be coming back to Chef Bruce Lim’s Rustique Kitchen, especially the kare - kare!
