I love watching film festivals! You will see me around the metro falling in the long line just to watch one. One of my favorites is coming, the 8th International Silent Film Festival from Aug 28th - 31st 2014. The only difference of this Silent Film Festival from among others is that the movies are accompanied by live music. There's a live band going to interpret the scenes via music so you won't hear any words though there's an English subtitle provided to all.
The Manila Composers Lab, Dr. Jonas Baes from the UP Diliman College of Music and German silent film musician Pierre Oser will be this year's participants. You will be watching silent films from Japan, France, Italy, Germany, USA, Spain and the Philippines. Tickets are free and on a first-come, first served basis at the Shangri-La Cineplex in Boni, Mandaluyong.
Below is the schedule:
August 28, 2014
8pm City Lights (USA) - Band: Pulso
August 29, 2014
5pm Destiny (Germany)
