I know a lot of song - writing competitions on Philippine television but I didn't know that there is one for songs of praise to the One above until I learned about ASOP (A Song Of Praise) Music Festival. Shown via UNTV (Your Public Service Channel) 37 on a weekly basis for 12 months, this is one of the perfect venue for songwriters to showcase their best composed songs of praise.
Though ASOP is only 3 years old to date, it's not your small-time kind of competition as you will see that this year some of the most noted names in the local music industry is joining as participants such as OPM Icons Rachel Alejandro, Bayang Barrios, Gail Blanco & Bo Cerrudo, famous band vocalists Mcoy Fundales (Kenyo/Orange & Lemon), Jek Manuel (I-Axe), Jason Fernandez (Rivermaya), Ava Olivia Santos (Freestyle) and many more.
Now let's proceed to the grand winners of the 3rd ASOP (A Song Of Praise) Music Festival 2014 held at SMART - Araneta Coliseum last Sept. 23, 2014:

The judges for this year's ASOP competition are Dr. Mon Del Rosario, Wency Cornejo, Danny Javier, Willie Nepumuceno, Danny Tan and Alvin De Vera. Danny Javier who is the head judge says "It is hard to find the winner because they are all great. It is good to know that we are six here not just me alone to decide."
