Whenever I travel, I always stick to the mantra of keeping everything light. After all what are travel meetups for if I am not learning and applying anything from it? I have had enough of "bringing all my closet" then suffer the consequence all throughout the trip.
Let's start from the footwear. I used to wear the cheapest, non-branded and universal-looking pair of slippers. But when more trips keep on coming my way, I know I need to attend to my feet's overall comfort and well-being too. I mean if I care for my face more often than not then why not my feet as well? Travelling means walking often and moving around at no definite intervals so I need more than want a reliable footwear that I can bring anywhere.

It is just a perfect timing because I remembered I was given a gift card worth Php300 of Banana Peel when I joined the pool of bloggers it invited for their event last May - the Summer In The City. Before I headed to my 4th travel assignment in Dipolog I rushed to the nearest Banana Peel retail store in Makati and I went home this pair of flippies you see on top.
I am actually typing this while sitting in one of the chairs inside Dipolog airport and waiting for my flight back to Manila with my feet resting comfortably on this lovely pair of Banana Peel flip-flops. I just used it for a few days now and I feel like my feet has found its perfect match!
Biking in Dipolog |
Four things that really got me hooked to Banana Peel flip flops:
1. Comfort
Banana Peel flip flops sole are thicker than the cheap slippers you see around. I have to admit when I walk, I put too much pressure at the back of my feet under my ankle which usually leads to more discomfort at this spot. I admit I really need to "relearn myself " in walking righteously which is putting all over the weight of my body to the rest of my feet.
With this whenever I do my "habit" it pushed the back part of my feet right up and reminds me to walk the right way. It is also softer that really gives my feet this caring feeling.
2. Skin - friendly
I have had a few instances whenever I use the cheap slippers especially the thong makes my skin itchy after a long time maybe because of too much rubbing or skin contact. Actually I just had a 3 hour and a half of biking in Dipolog and I haven't felt discomfort or anything in any part of my feet yet.
Just a reminder though that since all - natural paint has been used to not harm your skin, in time the design will fade eventually.
3. Stylish
What I like the best of Banana Peel flip flops is that they come in varieties of designs that I so love! Now that I always go to the airport once in a while and still wear a flip-flop of course I want to look a stylish chic too. I always prefer a black color matched into another bright color to hide the dirt and so in one glance. This one I got is Banana Peel Razzle Dazzle Glossarama black I like designs that are either flowery or summer-look.
4. Affordable price
This pair of Banana Peel flip flops is only Php 330 which for me is very affordable compared to the leading brand that costs almost close to a thousand pesos. I just added the extra Php 30 and boom I got this pair of flippies right in my hand in an instant. No questions asked. Now this affordability and according to my own qualifications also meets up my other mantra when it comes to travelling which is to spend just enough.
So there you go, this is it. I am looking forward to more trips with my Banana Peel flip flops. To check their actual footwear lines of products, you can visit any of these Banana Peel authorizes stores in Manila.

[tried to post this on Saturday, but your website was not cooperating. It is now Monday 29th at 12.40pm]
ReplyDeleteSo, now that I know that you have been biking, I am particularly looking forward to your report !
I use my bike every day during my journey to work - much better than using buses or the underground.
Apologies for the lack of an introduction so far. By the way it's "Mr", not "Ms", which may help to explain why I will not be rushing to buy flip-flops, despite their many attractions. Besides, I am sure that they look much better on you !.
Bye for now from a very hot London. 24C just now, at 4.30pm; forecast for 30C next week. I see that it is "only" 29C in Manila just now, but that's at 11.30pm.
Your #1 Fan In London.
Hi Mr. #1 Fan In London, nice to meet you very much :) Hope you could have introduced more of yourself and your name too.
ReplyDeleteSorry about that. Sometimes this website is down. Yeah I am working on my next blog post which is my travel assignment to Dipolog. Yeah I did biking over there and I personally love the house I stayed.... the rest of the story will be in my next article. Just that the pics are only taken from a cheap mobile phone because a month ago I was robbed by teenage kids and aimed a knife in the side of my shoulder. I was so scared so I gave my bag which contains my brand new digicam and smartphone rather than put my life at stake. I am working on and saving more to buy of these soon.
Anyway with or without a lot of photos, I promise to send post my story just the way I experienced it. Hope you check back to read it.
Good to know you are doing things that are eco-friendly like biking. If I am not living in a crowded city I would love to go on a bike from office to work and vice - versa.
Wow London is hot now? We are already in rainy season here in Manila so we need to bring umbrellas always. Have you been here? Would love to show you around.
