2 WFH Sisters and 1 Dog Sharing Our Travels in Bicol and Manila

My Top 60 Famous Travel Quotes That Inspired My Wanderlust

Back when I didn't knew about travelling then  I was just this uber - curious girl who would join free meetups  of any sorts around Manila to gain friends and kill boredom. I just don't know because I always end up in travel meetups for some reasons. I would always listen to travel bloggers and seasoned travelers usually organized by travel brands to give a talk about going off the beaten path.

One thing that they all have in common is that at any point of their speech they always have one or two favorite travel quotes to share. At first I didn't took too much attention of it as I just feel it is an icing on top of a cake. I even felt it just makes their travel experiences cheesy!

However when more and more travel meetups have come my way, quotes about adventure and travel are really indispensable ingredient to someone who was bitten by the travel bug. I discovered people who are crazy about travelling have so much to tell that they can't say the exact words, they just pick up famous travel quotes.

  1. Not necessarily my favourite - I would need to think about that - but this one, also from Robert Louis Stevenson, springs to mind:

"To travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive".

  3. How about this one, also by Pico Iyer:

"Travel is like love, mostly because it’s a heightened state of awareness, in which we are mindful, receptive, undimmed by familiarity and ready to be transformed.

That is why the best trips, like the best love affairs, never really end."

    1. Pico Iyer is my favorite. He often relates travel to love which is really common when you're out there - there's so much love in all forms you experience :)

  4. Or, on a more humorous note, how about this one, also by Mark Twain:

"I have found out that there ain’t no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them."

    :)

    1. Absolutely agree with this! That is why I'd rather prefer to travel alone than have a buddy who has exactly opposite of my interests. But you would never know at least you spend time together :)
