I've recently stumbled a very active Facebook group backpackers and travellers helping each other out by sharing their itinerary. I must say I am really envious of they capture photos, stories and how they craft their do - it - yourself tours. This Facebook group is composed of close to fifteen thousand young filipino backpackers.

I figured out, if they are helping each other there why not also share these travel guides that they did themselves to more Filipino travelers. We got millions of fellow local travelers who wanted to know how others travel cheap and promote our country's tourism .One of them that really captured my attention, is Raine Gozon. I think she really makes a good photographer and I see her travelling to so many provinces and beyond.

This is the most recent post she just shared. With her permission, I am sharing a do - it - yourself tour to Biliran, Kalanggaman and Tacloban with a few hugot lines I have read haha.

I have long been really wanting to have an Eastern Visayas backpacking trip especially that my brother has found a job there. He's been saying so much great tourist attractions to visit in Biliran, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Northern Samar, Samar and Southern Leyte and the cities of Baybay, Borongan, Calbayog, Catbalogan, Maasin, Ormoc and Tacloban. Most of all, I would have no problem finding an accommodation since I can stay with him!

Three thousand plus is really dirt cheap to travel for four days right? I will have this properly translated when I have time. As a fellow backpacker, she wants to tell everyone to be responsible while travelling and leave no trace like you pick up your own thrash or don't add more.

  3. When I read you wrote "Northern Samar" in this post, I say, gora na haha. I am from Northern Samar and I have been actively promoting my province. I know it has so much potential in the field of tourism. Unfortunately, some towns with really incredible attractions do not have available accommodations yet. For now, I can recommend the Biri rock formations for you to explore because the town of Biri already has two or three hostels. I have written about them at my blog and you can also search for Biri rock formations through Google. A lot of bloggers have alreadby been there so information about the place is not scarce anymore. I hope you will get to travel to Northern Samar soon ;-) Have fun exploring places!

I am from Irosin, Sorsogon actually so it would be a bit nearer when I go home to drop by there. Thanks for your tips!

    1. Hi Alwin, this is a contributed DIY by Raine. I am answering the comments in her behalf. I think she went to Tourism office first which I would also suggest para marecommend ka sa mga contacts na legitimate at hindi ka lolokohin sa presyo. Paki contact na lang po ang mga mobile numbers na nilagay sa taas for the most updated rates at kung kaya nyo tumawad :)
