August was a memorable month to me because I ticked off another province in my bucketlist. It was a last minute opportunity to celebrate 2017 Kadayawan Festival in Davao courtesy of Air Asia Ph together with fellow travel bloggers. I love the vibe of this city despite the fact that it is currently under Martial Law. Sure, there are military guys everywhere but it is one of the places in the Philippines I feel much safer. I am yet to do a travel guide to Davao but I will certainly doing it soon. For now, let me share to you where I spent my last night before flying back to Manila.
Where to stay in Davao - Seda Hotel Abreeza
We only stayed in the city of Davao to begin with. I know I will be in a place that is much like Manila where sprawling malls dominate the neighborhood. I am also very aware that Kadayawan Festival is a peak season so finding a hotel could be quite a struggle. Good thing, we chose Seda Hotel Abreeza Davao because it was everything we want for.
Seda Hotels is a chain of urban lifestyle hotels spread all over the Philippines. You can find these at Bonifacio Global City, Cagayan de Oro, Nuvali, Iloilo, Vertis North and Davao. Here's why you should choose Seda Hotel Abreeza when you find yourself looking for a hotel to stay in Davao.
- Location Seda Hotel Abreeza in Davao's location is everything! Who wouldn't want a hotel that's only a 5 minute walk to a shopping mall? Abreeza Mall is connected to Seda Hotel via a bridge overpass. Anytime, you feel like eating at a fancy restaurant or up for a walk inside this mall, it is not definitely a problem at all.
It's only 20 minutes away from Davao's international airport.
- It's a spacious hotel From the lobby, to the elevator, to the hallway to the rooms and other facilities, Seda Hotel is certainly one of the few ones that guarantees that its guests can breath a fresh air wherever they are inside the hotel.
- It offers FREE buffet breakfast One thing we made sure for a hotel to stay in Davao is that it should come with free breakfast. It means we saved one meal that we can buy for other things. Of course, there's nothing like eating at your own comfort zone. No need to get out of the hotel and waste your time finding one to fill that empty stomach. A buffet of healthy and hefty kinds of meals await guests of Seda Hotel Abreeza. It's an eat all you can thingy! I will make a separate blog post of Misto Restaurant, the resident restaurant of Seda Abreeza soon.
- It's an art centric hotel I'm no professional artist but I appreciate all those artsy stuff found inside Seda Abreeza. The positive vibe and a myriad of colors found on the walls and some art installations are enough to brighten the days of guests who came from a long trip
- Its friendly staff and hotel receptionists A superb and top - notch hotel with modern amenities would be nothing without its workers. From being greeted by the guys who open the doors to the ladies behind the reception who made our check in a breeze, I couldn't ask for more about how nice they are.
I stayed in a Deluxe Room with twin beds. I am all by myself so the other bed remained empty. This room has 40-inch LED HDTV with cable channels, media panel with HDMI, USB and audio-visual connectivity, complimentary Wi-Fi and broadband internet access, IDD phone with iPod dock, alarm clock, voice mail and radio. The online geek and remote worker in me was screaming with joy because I have a nice office table equipped with these "luxuries" for me to be able to do my blogging and freelance online stuff!
It came with a few sachets of coffee, tea, creamer and an electric water pot plus a mini-bar. The room is getting chilly because it's air conditioned. One thing I always do when I'm in a cold place, I drink a hot cup of tea with creamer! Here in Seda Hotel Abreeza Davao, I can do exactly that!
The beds and the pillows are soft. Love it! I have been to a lot of hotels that look fancy but their beds get harder the more I lie down but here, I can spend the whole day inside this room. The only thing I didn't quite like is that I can hear the conversations of my fellow friends who are staying in the other room. It's not loud at all that I can hear what they are talking about but more of a murmur type of hearing.
Other room types:
Club Rooms offer a range of privileges for discerning travelers. Located on the 10th and 11th floors, they provide access to the Club Lounge where guests enjoy exclusivity and premium service; daily Continental breakfast; all-day refreshments and cocktails; iMac stations; work tables; reading materials; a wide-screen LED HDTV with cable channels; and secretarial assistance.
Premier Rooms offer bigger accommodations and supplementing facilities. With a floor area of 35 sqm, additional features include a bath tub and kitchenette, as well as Club Lounge access.

The Gym and Swimming Pool
This is our last day in this province. We spent it by buying pasalubong and checking all nearby tourist spots in Davao that's why we regret that we weren't able to do some workouts in their gym or have a dip at their swimming pool. We did made sure to check it out. The gymn has one or two people lifting some weights. Since it was lunch time, the swimming pool has less people but I will bet during other times, it is brimming with kids, parents and kids at heart.
Overall, I would recommend Seda Hotel Abreeza Davao. This is a four - star hotel that caters to those who can afford a bit more for an extra luxury. Other services that make this hotel a place to remember when in Davao: an accredited service provider for in-room massage, e-lounge/business center, complimentary WiFi, in-room dining, laundry & dry cleaning, airport/city transfers, babysitting and a doctor on-call.
