He is offering a one-day food tour package in Binondo on the day of the celebration of Chinese New Year. Every year, it is Rence's advocacy to promote this place whom he once called home. He is by the way half Chinese and half Filipino. His father is a pure Chinese born here in the Philippines during the war and his mother is a pure Filipina from Samar. He knows a bit of Cantonese and Mandarin language.
Manila Chinatown is the largest and oldest Chinatown in the world. It was established in 1594 to separate the Catholic Chinese from the non-Catholic from mainland. The current Chinatown covers a big portion of several districts of Binondo, San Nicolas, parts of Santa Cruz , parts of Tondo and even parts of Quiapo. Filipino-Chinese not only within the Philippines but the rest of the world are celebrating the year of the dog with a BIG Bang with lion dances and fireworks display.
This Binondo walking food tour is in cooperation with Binondo Firecracker and Fire-lover Association.

2.) If you DON'T like moving around, DON'T like to walk under the heat of the sun, DON'T like noise, DON'T like the crowd - we DON'T encourage you to join the tour. Chinese New Year in Binondo Chinatown is crazy and chaotic.
