5 Crazy things to try to spice up your next outdoor adventure

Going camping provides an amazing escape from your busy lifestyle. It gives you the chance to get acquainted with nature and all that it has to offer. That being said, your experience will greatly depend on the kinds of activities you plan while you’re out there. If you haven’t scheduled things that will spark your sense of adventure, you’ll get bored and end your trip early. The days and nights will feel longer. When you have well-planned itinerary, you’re more likely to make the most of your experience. Here is a list of things that you can do to spice up your next outdoor adventure, whether you’re camping or just looking for a day trip:

1. Go for a Hike

Hiking is one of the best things you can do to really enjoy the outdoors. Aside from allowing you to explore nature and feel at ease, hiking also helps you burn calories. But what if it’s raining? Do you risk it? Do you try to make the most of the hike anyway? No. Your clothes will get sopping wet and you’ll end up miserable. Make sure you check weather conditions before you begin.

While hiking, a map can help you make the most of your journey. Also make sure to pack essential supplies that you will need for nourishment on long hikes such as canned food, water, painkillers, tools, a first-aid kit, and a compass. If you’re bringing along a pet, make sure you provide for them as well. You can even take your cat with you!

2. Mountain Biking

With a mountain bike, you can go as far as you want. Unlike a car, your mountain bike won’t need to be refueled. You can also get to places that aren’t easily accessible. Before setting out, make sure your bike is in good shape. Inspect it to make sure it won’t need any repairs. The last thing you want is to get stranded. You should also carry essential supplies with you, and make sure you’re wearing protective gear to avoid getting injured.. And don’t forget your camera!

3. Go Fishing

Feasting on a fish that you caught with your own fishing rod is satisfying. You will never forget that experience for the rest of your life. The best time for fishing is early in the morning and late in the evening because that’s when marine creatures are active. However, if you don’t have a portable freezer, you should only catch enough fish that you can eat that day. Fish can go bad quickly. Grab your fishing rod and bait, and you’ll be all set.

4. Swim in a River or Lake

If there is a river or a lake near your camping destination, you should consider going for a swim. As a matter of fact, swimming in fresh water is very refreshing. It really helps in relaxing your mind. If you are not a good swimmer, you should use a tube or a life jacket because it will prevent you from drowning. In fact, you should never go for a swim alone because you never know what might happen while you are inside the water. The best time for swimming is between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. when the sun is nice and hot.

5. Hunt Wild Animals

If you have an interest in hunting what you eat, this is the perfect activity for you. Hunting requires a great deal of common sense on safety, as you will need arrows or a rifle. Game tends to be more delicious and fresh when it is newly caught. If your aim isn’t great, consider mounting a scope on your crossbow or rifle so that you can increase your accuracy.
