Thinking of going to North and Central Luzon for vacation? I highly suggest dropping by Festival Mall because some of the biggest deals for hotels, tour packages for these destinations are up for sale! It's only three days so better take this chance or you wait for the next year since this tourism and trade fair organized by NLEX Corporation is held annually.
I am used to joining NLEX-SCTEX "Tara Na Sa Norte" Tourism and Travel Fair in a mall in Makati so I really made extra efforts and braved the heavy traffic just to be part of this event. One of the highlights of 2019 Tara Na Sa Norte is the upcoming 2019 Southeast Asia Games where 11, 000+ athletes will be competing in 56 different sports to be done across Central and North Luzon including New Clark City and Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
Really happy to also meet the people behind North Philipines Visitors Bureau (Miss Rhycel and Pauline) who are part of the group organizing Lakbay Norte, an annual media and bloggers trip which yours were able to join twice before. I can say, if you're a blogger in the Philippines you should at least be part of this trip. The camaraderie and friendship that forms after a five-day trip is priceless. They take care of everyone like their own family member and everyone becomes friends in real life after the trip.
The booths of La Union, Cordilleras, Subic Bay and Bataan really caught my attention. I have been to these destinations in Luzon many times but will never say no for another trip there. Special mention to Okey na Okoy food stand selling plant-based okoy. It's a Filipino crispy deep-fried fritters made with glutinous rice batter and instead of small shrimps, they use either squash or malunggay instead along with other veggies. Now that I am redesigning my lifestyle to be healthier version of myself so it is so nice for them to incorporate non-meat products. Hope to see more products and services targeting those who are health-conscious and/or inspiring one to be the same.
More than 100 exhibitors offering hotel/resort stays, travel agencies/tour operators and traders are expected to promote their packages. There are mini-games, fun activities and raffle prizes awaiting for those who will visit the 2019 Tara Na Sa Norte.
