2 WFH Sisters and 1 Dog Sharing Our Travels in Bicol and Manila

VegFest Pilipinas 2019 is Philippines' Biggest Vegan Festival To Happen This Weekend in BGC

It's been one heck of a journey when I decided to shift to plant-based eating. It is such a challenge where to find a vegan restaurant, what to cook for dinner that won't involve any meat at all, and how to deal with family members who aren't into this lifestyle yet. Owning a baby dog shih tzu that I love with all my heart has been an eye-opener. If I can love him like a mom to daughter, why not I can do the same to the rest of animals specially the chickens, pigs, cows, and fishes that are killed for human consumption?

For those who are open to follow the same lifestyle and join the advocacy I recommend joining VegFest Pilipinas 2019 that will happen this weekend in BGC Arts Theater from November 16 to 17. They are open from 9am to 10pm for the two days they'll be around. BGC is going to transform to the most compassionate and kindest place on Earth would have to be in BGC because 150 all-vegan vendors will be offering their specialty all in one place! Yes, 150 all-vegan vendors will showcase the best vegan food and non-food products as VegFest Pilipinas returns.

VegFest Pilipinas 2019

VegFest Pilipinas 2019 is already on its 4th year. The theme this time is "Live Kindly for the Community". A vegan diet and vegan lifestyle do not harm any animal at all.  Vegans do not consume meat, seafood, dairy, eggs, and even honey.

Before I thought vegans only eat fresh fruits and veggies everyday and that's it. At one point in my life, I said I could never be like them but just in case you don't know this yet, all your favorite meat dishes have plant-based alternative such as sisig, sausage, dinuguan, liempo, hotdogs, isaw, scrambled egg, empanadas, bacon, and even leche flan!

I am inviting non-vegans to come and see for themselves how they can embrace veganism. Everyone is welcome in this event. I am so looking forward for the cooking workshops and yoga yoga classes - all for free to join. Vegan food is not only cholesterol-free but very low in carbon footprint, so it’s not just good for you, but for the environment too!

This 2019, the beneficiaries of VegFest Pilipinas are Go Palakas  (a feeding and nurturing program for malnourished children through wholesome vegan food, coupled with physical, mental, emotional and spiritual guidance and exercises) and Animal Rescue Family (ARF), a local animal rescue group that does life-saving work through animal rescues and adoption. Both organizations run through donations.

I am also excited to meet finally some of the members of Vegans of Manila in person as they are the brains behind this event. I have made quite a few friends online via Facebook. Entrance fee is Php 100 per day. After this event, I will be reviewing a vegan restaurant in Makati and a vegan accommodation in Tagaytay. Excited!
