After spending the day at Uptown Mall BGC for some work at their new free coworking space, Mind Lounge, I was in the mood for a good meal. Mind Lounge is a great spot for remote workers — offering free use of charging sockets and a comfortable environment. After a late lunch at Tomatito BGC, another restaurant nearby, my plan was to head to Din Tai Fung BGC for dinner.
Like Tomatito, Din Tai Fungdoes not allow pets inside so we took the seats and table in the outdoor belonging to this restaurant. I am always used to this setup whenever I dine with my furbaby. This is nothing new to me.
The weather was bad — raining heavily when we arrived — but surprisingly, the outdoor seating at Din Tai Fung was fly-free, unlike my earlier experience at Tomatito. I ordered dinner and decided to take it home instead of dining in, as it was already past 9 p.m.
Here’s what I ordered for a total of Php 1k+:
- Xiao Long Bao (Pork) – Php 215
- Mushroom Wontons with House Special Soy Sauce – Php 255
- Fried Chicken Chop – Php 340
- Jasmine Tea (unlimited refills) – Php 95
While Din Tai Fung BGC doesn’t offer any complimentary appetizers, their unlimited-refill Jasmine Tea is a nice touch. The location of Din Tai Fung is ideal, especially if you’re in Uptown Mall or working around BGC.
The only downside is that their serving sizes could be a bit larger for the price. But will I go back? Absolutely! The restaurant’s close proximity to Uptown Mall makes it a convenient dining option, especially when I'm frequently in the area. Next time, I’ll definitely return with my furbaby again, hoping for more pet-friendly restaurants in BGC to welcome us.
