Is Tomatito BGC pet-friendly?

tomatito bgc review

Tomatito BGC does not allow pets inside. I went there one afternoon with my fur baby. Good thing, they allow customers who have pets in their outdoor tables and chairs. I put my furbaby on the chair while I dine. The server saw it and it was ok with her. Some restaurants in Manila do not allow pets to sit on their chair but in Tomatito it is not the case.

The only thing that bothered me is there are flies hovering above my food. There were minimum of 2 flies that I keep on shooing away. I am not sure whether this is to be taken against the restaurant because of course this is an outdoor space.  However, we also went to Din Tai Fung BGC for dinner which is another restaurant in BGC that doesn’t pets so we remain in the outdoor table and seats they have. It was raining so hard but there were no flies at all on our table.

For Php 1k+ worth of bill, here is the list of what I ordered:

1. Gambas al Ajillo (shrimps in olive oil, garlic, chili, and white wine)
Price: Solo (Php 455) & Sharing (Php 815)

2. Parrillada de Verduras (grilled zucchini, eggplant, red bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, green beans, mushroom and corn served with romesco sauce)
Price: Solo (Php P325) & Php 625)

3. Homemade Iced Tea under Agua, Jugo y Refrescos
Price: Php 95

Tomatito BGC also served complimentary 2 thin breadsticks and 2 sourdough breads served with a simple dip of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. which I really appreciate since this is a tapas bar. They do not serve pasta or rice meals. As a Filipina who is used to eat carbs 2x times a day, these free appetizers were my source of carbs that day.

Tapas bars traditionally focus on serving small, shareable plates that encourage socializing and variety, rather than offering heavy, filling dishes like pasta or rice meals. Tapas are designed to be light and snackable, allowing patrons to try multiple flavors and textures without getting full too quickly. This format fits the social, casual atmosphere of tapas bars, where the emphasis is more on enjoying a variety of small bites with drinks rather than sitting down for a full, heavy meal. If you are curious why they don't have rice or pasta meals!

Tomatito's location for me is superb. It is just a street cross away from the always crowded Bonifacio High Street. If you are like me who wants to dine in a place where there are less people passing by, you will surely love Tomatito BGC. Will I go back with my furbaby? Definitely, yes. I wouldn’t mind going back but I wish the flies are gone in the outdoors. It is certainly not a pleasant dining experience eating with flies.

That same day, I and my furbaby went to another restaurant in BGC called Din Tai Fung in Uptown Parade particularly. Read HERE to know if Din Tai Fung BGC is pet-friendly.
