This year’s observance of National Sardines Day on November 24 extended across multiple key regions through a series of interactive, community-centered events. These celebrations showcased the creativity and relevance of sardines in everyday Filipino life.
The journey began on November 3 in Albay, where MPFI not only celebrated but also provided vital relief assistance to families affected by Typhoon Kristine in Libon, Lapu-Lapu, and Taysan. The festivities continued in Tuguegarao, Cebu, and Davao before culminating in a grand event at Market! Market! in Taguig on November 24.
A Festive Celebration in Metro Manila
The Metro Manila event, hosted at Market! Market!, embraced the lively spirit of a Filipino fiesta through vibrant “Peryahan sa Bayan”-inspired activities. Designed to entertain attendees of all ages, the carnival-themed event featured interactive booths, engaging games, and exciting prizes. A unique DIY bar allowed participants to experiment with ready-to-eat Mega Sardines products, inspiring them to create their own flavorful dishes and rediscover the versatility of this pantry staple.
Esteemed guests, including MPFI’s Marvin Tiu Lim, brand ambassador Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, culinary influencer Ninong Ry, and YouTube sensation Cong TV, joined the festivities, bringing excitement and reinforcing the brand’s dedication to community connection and nourishment.
